Fatalities are frantic, but not the same. Arenas are looking good as ever, but not original. All the characters are there, complete with their classic moves. Overall, the game isn't very enjoyable, but it has enough that most Mortal Kombat fans will love. You can do actual fighting within the Konquest Mode, but they only occur at certain points (usually after a painstakingly long platforming sequence) and lack the fatalities that many players look forward to at the end of battles. Konquest Mode is featured in the game, but it's worth skipping if you don't enjoy adventure type games. The developers paid attention to even the smallest details in the arenas, even if most of them are remakes of arenas in previous games. A low point for this game is the removal of character-specific fatalities, basically meaning that your character has about as much of a personality than the next.Īrenas are nice looking, with little bits and pieces scattered about the area. It is essentially a race against time to create the most brutal fatality that you possibly can, with your time slot withering away faster with each move. You can also "fail" these fatalities if you do not perform a finishing move at the end of your fatality.
The rank of the fatality changes depending on the number of moves you've accomplished.
